Meet Rosemarie Kuptana — Inuit rights activist, broadcaster and journalist!

Rosemarie Kuptana has worked tirelessly to preserve Inuit language and culture. In her work as broadcaster, author, rights activist, climate protector, and advocate for language reclamation and self-government, Rosemarie has worked for decades on behalf of Indigenous people in Canada and around the world. Because of her efforts — and those of others like her — the territory of Nunavut was formed, a crucial step towards safeguarding the rights and culture of Inuit.
